This home, designed for a couple with grown children, was inspired by a Southern Living Home of the Year, but with extensive design modifications to suit the needs of the client and the specifics of the dramatically sloping wooded site. Maximizing views from the main living spaces of the house and attention to solar orientation played a major role in the design of the floor plan. The home incorporates tall ceilings in the basement allowing the client to practice his golf swing. The basement also houses a "stationary" exercise pool.
