Camden Station Redevelopment Feasibility

As an ambitious redevelopment effort conceived during the planning phase of Oriole Park at Camden Yards, this project was managed and prepared by Jeffrey Penza under Baukhages and Associates as a submission for a Request For Proposals by the City of Baltimore to develop the property immediately to the east of the Camden Warehouse. Revolving around the creation of a steam rail excursion line that linked to the B&O Railroad Museum via a replica 1850’s steam engine, the proposal included rail stops for the MARC commuter trains as well as the light rail line. Also included were design plans for a complete renovation of the Camden Railroad Station building into support facilities for all rail operations and construction of a retail pavilion to the south of the Station. Although the development of the property never materialized, the research efforts we had undertaken played a role in the later restoration of Camden Station.
